Rian is an independent curator working with some of the world’s best photographers, and is active in the international photography community. She has coordinated more than 375 exhibitions, and 65 books and catalogues.

  • Invited presenter, ORTESOL conference, presented seminar on use of poetry in a workshop setting with refugee and immigrant communities to foster literacy and the sharing of language and stories.
  • Invited lecturer to Portland State University practicum linguistics students, poetry as a tool for literacy and healing with alternative populations.

Recent curatorial achievements include an exhibition premiering at the international Cultural Forum Festival in Brazil, July 2006.
